When We Lose Our Beloved Pets

My hope here is that you’ll be better prepared for the eventual loss of your pet. This way you’ll also be able to grieve in a way that helps you to release any guilt as well while helping your family members which also, of course, include your remaining pets to better go through the grieving process.

Our handsome American Bully boy, King

Back in 2012, I was approached by the editor of a magazine in Pakistan that focuses on motherhood. In fact the name of the magazine is Motherhood Magazine. I was asked to write on how pets can benefit the lives of children. I accepted the invitation and it was published. That article is still available on their website that is now in digital format.

Last year, Ms. Haseeb asked me to write an article on pet loss. It was a few months after the loss of our very special American Bully boy, King, so that loss was still so fresh in my heart. He was such a special boy and most definitely my husband's buddy dude. I wrote the article for Ms. Haseeb, and it is titled, Losing a Beloved Pet which you can find on their website as well now in the Summer Edition of the magazine starting on page 11. I hope this article can help you with your beloved pet when you are going through what I consider the most difficult time of having a pet - when we have to say goodbye...for now.

We may have different viewpoints on some things they cover in their magazine, but for me, it is always a privilege to be able to bring a different perspective from a different culture in hopes that animals can have the care they deserve.

The first article I wrote for Motherhood Magazine is linked here if you'd like to read that one as well:

Until next time...
