Be Like a Duck
As a short sidetrack, I've always liked ducks and probably for one major reason - my grandmother. She inspired me in so many ways. She ran a successful restaurant business during a time when women didn't do things like that. She also always made time for all her grandchildren - half the time at least one of us was living with her. Her life was overfull if you ask me, but she always managed to make it work.

Today I want to share what I hope is an encouraging message for you - no matter what your "go through" is right now.
As I read the article below, I thought that this is more than just thinking of "water off a duck's back".
If we were staying with her, she'd take us after the "lunch run" to feed the ducks. This was the biggest part of the day since her restaurant was in an industrial area and the workers didn't have anywhere to really get a good home-cooked meal except her restaurant. There weren't fast food restaurants galore like there are now.
We'd take the left-over bread from lunch and go feed the ducks at the local manmade pond/stream that wasn't far away. She always cautioned us to throw it to the ducks rather than hand feed them - they were wild after all. So, we did.
I never thought much about the effort going on underneath the water when they were in there, but this article will help shed a little light on that. This is a faith-based article, so you aren't surprised that the context is more about us than about the ducks. I love how nature models MANY things for us if we are paying attention. https://anewthingministries.com/keep-paddling-2/
And to that end, I encourage you all to just keep on paddling, as Kim Potter states in the first paragraph of her article: "Have you ever observed the graceful movement of a duck effortlessly floating across the serene surface of a pond? It is truly a magnificent sight – the way the duck moves so calmly and peacefully is incredibly soothing. As I watch the duck, it seems to be completely carefree, gliding along without a single worry, effortlessly making its way across the water. I believe that our lives as believers could emulate this tranquil scene: appearing peaceful and unhurried, yet steadily and purposefully moving forward."
Until next time...
Have a PAWSitively, tail waggin', "water off a duck's back" day!
